Oh that 1861 looks like Charles wasn’t the father then because it says he’s married and Mary listed as Bailey (?!)

Hmmm just thought actually she could be charies daughter couldn’t she as she took his name plus he was the “lodger” when she was 0

Looks possible that the Samuel Bailey on the 1861 census died and another child was given his name

I ve seen that happen a lot - bit odd but maybe a respecting the memory thing back then.

Not finding Charles in 1851 at present.

Both 1861 and 1871 say he was born in Costock. Whilst it is in Notts. the nearest "big place" is Loughborough

??? ages above 15 rounded down to nearest 5 on the 1841, so would fit a birth c1822-26
