Yes Shirley i have the baptism & my granddads WW1 service history records, he went AWOL & got all the children out of the poor house, my mother always said it was Dr Barnardo but i've never found any record to prove that only the poor house bless them.

Catherine my grandmother had consumption & died when my mother was 12, she was unable to care for the children

Nellie was a Nurse, I've got photos of her & one of her in her late teens, i suppose its always poss that she went to New York

Rosie Was 19 when she died. Nellie would of been 24 when she left & 28 if she got on that Ship..........

Just had a reply from a lady on ancestry that says that her Helen May Battershll nee Catten was a nurse & asked if my Ellen May Catten was possibly a Nurse

Mr Battershill married again in the 1950s & she says she thinks she married again too

You are right ArgyllGran ..... best way forward with this now is that Catten/Battershill marriage cert,if its her then hopefully she didn't lie about my grandad being her dad
