Thanks I also don't think its the Durham death. Its a hard one to crack, and as mentioned Mary Ann his wife is just as hard to find Pam

ArgyllGran Report 25 Oct 2019 11:16

George was apparently still living in1930 - not stated as deceased on Maurice's marriage cert.

If he had returned to the UK, I can see only one death after 1930 of a George Blake, without middle initials, born c1862.

Deaths Dec 1950 (>99%)
Blake George 88 Durham C. 1a 311

However, the only way to find out if that's him is to buy a copy of the cert.
Personally, I don't think that's your George.

I strongly suspect, though can't prove a thing, that he did not return to the UK.
He was born in India and married and lived his life in India and Burma, so likely also died there
I don't see his death in India or Burma, however. (Nor Mary Ann.)

I don't see any record of him travelling to the UK - not that that proves anything.

More Info needed. I started a new post for this but it was suggested I add it to this thread. I am having no luck finding a death record for George Blake born on 17th March 1862 in Bengal India. His son is Maurice Blake from this thread who was born on 22nd January 1896 Thayetmo Burma India. I don't know where George died or in what country. George's Father Henry William Blake died in London on 4th April 1908. I also cant find a death for George's wife Mary Ann (Bartholomew) who he married on 8th August 1888 in India . Any help with finding any death information would be much appreciated Thank you Pam

I am posting this only because I have found the info - I can't see that we will need it but if it becomes relevant later it is here:

This is the Patrick who we had on 1939 and his later death detailed above.
I can't see that it is connected to the one we have in 1911 or to the Maurice we are trying to follow:

Born Cork. Lying in hospital.
23rd March 1894
Father Michael Blake (Cooper)
mother Margaret Dineen.
Birth date same as on 1939 in Cheshire.....

Date of Event 28 February 1918F
Group Registration ID 1783924
SR District/Reg Area Cork

His parents marriage:
on 06 April 1891

fathers for the above:
Edward Blake (Cooper)
Patrick Dineen (Plasterer).

Chris Ho :) Report 7 Oct 2019 07:22

But you didn't tell us about Kathleen, or his Parents earlier...

Chris :)

Dea Report 6 Oct 2019 21:58

So - forgive me but 'if' the 1911 census is 'your' Maurice then Patrick is back in there ??? - Personally, I am not sure that the 1911 'Maurice' is yours - perhaps they were all related and therefore went along to the same schools when they came to England ?

Pamela Report 6 Oct 2019 21:54

The accurate facts for my Maurice Blake are that he was born on 22nd January 1896 Burma, India. He died in 1978 Cuckfield West Sussex England. He attended the Ealing Grammar School in 1911. His occupation was Clerk in Civil Service. He married Doris Ethel Taylor on 19 April 1930. His Parents are George Blake and Mary Ann Bartholomew married 8th August 1888. His Sister Kathleen Blake was born 30th November 1889. India. There is also another Brother Frederick born 5th July 1894 Rangoon India and baptised 26th August 1896. Kathleen did not marry .
I have taken Patrick Blake out of the equation for the time being . Thank you all Pam
