I am helping a colleage look for a Henry Charles Smith born abt 1838 in Nayland Suffolk died 14 November 1912 in Glanville Adelaide Australia, with a father William mother unknown
Henry Charles married a Charlotte Walker 18th March 1912 in Adelaide Australia.
1851 Census has a William Smith with wife Judith (May) & a son Henry aged 11 year born at Hadleigh Suffolk is this near Nayland?
I have all of the information for Charlotte thanks, just need some help with Henry Charles Smith at the moment

I wanted to know who his parents were
I found a family on the 1851 census (as above ) but I do not know if it is his parents or not?
My friend has him on her Ancestry Tree but only his father name no mother

So, he married Charlotte in 1867 - not 1912 as per OP

And no mention of Charles in his name on that record

Did Charlotte die between 1867 and 1872?

Can't help thinking these are two entirely different men

EDIT: Not the 1839 birth - that Henry is in all the censuses up to his death in Sudbury in 1932. Parents Charles and Sarah.

Henry Charles Smith's civil death registration is on FMP - showing birth year 1840, which matches the headstone.

Why does your colleague think this is the man who married Charlotte Walker? There is absolutely nothing I can find to support the theory

Not the 20 May 1838 baptism, unfortunately.

Henry Charles Smith was a BACHELOR when he married Anne Sandwell in January 1872, by Licence

So he is NOT the man who married Charlotte Walker, unless he lied, which I don't think was the case, in view of the different names.

Henry Charles and Anne (Sandwell) also had a daughter, Edith Rose Agnes, who is in the same grave as her parents and maternal grandwother
