Find Ancestors

I have been trying to research my Grandad for my family tree. I have his exact birth as 25th June 1904 from a 1939 register (42 Harrow Road Leyton). I know it's him as he is with my Grandmother, my father and my aunt and their dates are correct. However, no searches come up for his birth, marriage or death. I cannot find him on any other registers or 1911 census as I do not know where he was born, although one family member thinks maybe Newcastle. Most of the family are deceased or too old to remember the father that left the family home around 1947. Any suggestions as to where I can look next ? Many thanks for any help :-)

Assuming this is the correct marriage, the cert will tell you his father's name if known.

But this groom's name is James, not John - so maybe not.

What was your grandmother's maiden surname, please? (Presumably Clements, per the children's births.)
Had she perhaps been married before, and had a different surname on marriage to John?
Or perhaps they didn't marry, for some reason?

Where did you get the middle name Thomas?

On my Grandmothers death cert it says WIFE OF JOHN THOMAS NICHOLLS
I cannot find a marriage for them, although I can find A MARRIAGE for a JAMES HENRY NICHOLLS marrying someone with my Grandmothers exact name - SARAH ELIZABETH CLEMENTS - her fathers name is also correct on the certificate.
His father also being JAMES HENRY NICHOLLS.
For some reason I cannot find my parents marriage certificate but will keep looking. On my Fathers birth certificate it only says JOHN NICHOLLS.
