It looks like Margaret was a McLellan, so the family tree i was given was wrong, thanks again for all your help, now trying to find the parents of Margaret and Angus, this might take me a while, still i have time now im at home most of the time,

Just to reiterate -

Don't be confused by the McArthur family in Uig, whose records safc has posted because you said Margaret's name was McKenzie. That's a red herring - ignore!

Margaret was a McLellan/McClellan, either mistranscribed or misheard as McLaren on a couple of records, as already explained.

It is the right family as Angus and Margarets daughter Catherine was married to my GG Grandfather Julius Clarke 1858 and they lived in Southampton

Look carefully at the info posted for you - if you're sure they are the Southampton family

Mothers maiden name shows as McLellan on Scottish births and also daughter Margaret in Southampton RD with the McLaren ones probably due to accent or poor handwriting

? First child recorded - if Scottish naming pattern was followed he would be named for his Paternal Grandfather. AG posted a possible birth for Angus Page 1 - with parents Donald McArthur and Catherine McAvoil

Ive havnt found any marriage details as of yet, so not sure if they were married in Cambeltown or not but i do know that they moved to Southampton between 1851 and 1854

Margaret's surname would appear to be McLellan NOT McKenzie. Above replies which you confirm are correct family show Angus as a Fireman 1861 and 1871. The children's births all show her surname as McLellen too

Ive spoken to a family member who had also done a family tree a while ago and they have told me that Angus McArthur was married to a Margaret McKenzie both from Cambletown, Scotland, as we know they did move away to Southampton as this is where all my family live now but it would be nice to find out a bit more about there life and family in Scotland,

Unfortunately, the marriage record, which is just a parish record, and not a marriage cert as such, will not give you the names of the parents of either Angus or Margaret.
