That death looks likely to be the one who married in 1797,,,,,,,,,

As for the apparent change from engineer to comedian,,,,,,,,,,,,you need the son’s marriage cert to establish whether there is a mistranscription on LanOPC.

The image of the cert is on Ancestry - John's father is definitely recorded as being a 'Comedian'

I'm aware that the daughter's marriage cert didn't indicate that he was 'deceased', but that may have been an oversight

The marriage licence is on FMP, and gives his age as 26 (born 1788/9) which fits age at death on the above record
