The only death of a Robert Coburn anywhere near London, 1970-85, is this one - which doesn't fit any of what little we know of him so far:

Deaths Mar 1977 (>99%)
COBURN ROBERT JAMES 26SE1903 HARROW 12 2537

Aha!
This looks like him in 1964, living with Richele Satori:

The details of birthdate on that death registration match this birth in Belfast.

If the correct person, then he lied about his age when he married, but maybe because of the age difference

If that 1903 Robert Coburn is the correct one, his father had a big change in occupation, from being a carter in 1903 to foreman in a linen mill by 1939.

Ive just been told that Robert Coburn known as Bobby who lived with Italian lady , who was in the army in Italy ( where he met Italian lady) lived in Finchley London but died in Calais on his way home from a french holiday. If i can get a death certificate it can prove if hes our Robert Coburn or not . I can then apply for military records .

I defo think Argyle gran has found them in 1964. If he died in Calais do i have to go to France to get death certificate ?

I think you need to contact the authorities in Calais, if that's where he died;

I know that William Thomas Clark married an Elizabeth Killeen and had 4 children Lavinia, Eileen, Sheila and John.

I have never heard of a Winifred?

He then ran off with his niece Annie Violet and had Jessica Clark

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 29 Sep 2023 10:15

I can see the births of Eileen, Sheila and John on FreeBMD - but no Lavinia or Winifred.

As I said earlier, the mention of Winifred was only on one of the dodgy trees on Ancestry, and there's no record of a Winifred Clark born 1921 in Southend-on-Sea as claimed. (or Rochford reg district, as it was in 1921).

That tree also says that William T was born in Southend-on-Sea - which is not true.
He was born in Bethnal Green.

Don't believe anything you find on someone's tree unless backed up by actual records!

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 29 Sep 2023 11:08

Just for our info -

Tree on Ancestry says Lavinia was born 1920 in Dublin.

Parents' marriage:

Marriages Dec 1919 (>99%)
Clark William T Killeen W. Ham 4a 848
KILLEEN Lilian Clark W. Ham 4a 848

Wife's name Lilian, not Elizabeth - unless that's just what she was known as.

ADDED:
Yes, born as Elizabeth , 15 August 1896;
listed as Lizzie in 1901 Census, and as Lily in 1911 - both in Dublin with parents and siblings.
