Thanks Maddie, That's him in 1871 with his father, I'm not sure if the 2 military records are the same person, My Albert looks to be the one with nok brother William. If they are the same Albert then it looks like he married at least 3 times.

Albert 's age in 1911 fits with your Albert.

1911 does say he was born in Exeter, Devon - but the only birth record of a child of that name in 1868-69 is your one in Newbury.

In fact, he is the only Albert Veale born in those years in the whole of England - though an Albert Veal (no E) was registered in Bedminster, then in Somerset, now part of Bristol..



In 1911 they are in the same household as John , 76, his daughter Bessie Parr , 32 (Elizabeth in 1891 census?) , and a niece Martha Jane Head, 17 - but not all transcribed together on Ancestry.

The Berkshire Index Record is for the BANNS……not the actual marriage - hence no fathers named.

You will need to purchase the cert, or visit the Records Office for confirmation
