Thanks to you and namelessone for the additional info. I have something in my memory that it was mentioned at one time when I was young that Muriel had been married more than once. I think she is going to be that one really hard person to unravel what happened to her. :)

Stanley, Clarissa and Winifred set sail from London on board P&O Ship RMS Strathnaver on 5th June 1952, as per record on FMP

Their UK address was 31 Blackcarr Road, Baguley, which you can view on Google Earth…..it comes under Wythenshawe.

Surely it would be useful to have the exact date of birth. If Muriel died unmarried and late enough to have here dob shown. Or, a big job I know) trying to match possible marriages to later deaths in the hope of matching the DOB’s

There is a POSSIBLE entry for Muriel on a GR member's tree. Find it by looking at 'search all member trees' under the 'search' button. You can then try to contact the member by clicking on 'find out more' against his name and sending a message. He may or may not respond, depending on his circumstances.

Louisa Ridings is in the same man's tree...............and in numerous others on GR

Clarissa Medlicott is in his tree and at least one other in addition to yours

Normally, one would suggest obtaining a copy of Muriel's birth cert for exact DoB, but, in this case, I'm not sure it would be helpful, as no-one knows whether she married, or even remained in the UK.
Had her death been picked up her record in 1939 would be open.

As Muriel's record is 'closed' on the 1939 Register, her death (if she has died) hasn't been picked up, and, without a death cert, the record can't be opened until 2027.

The best way to 'save' the messages is to add all the info to your family tree on here, although they will stay on the board as long as you don't delete your opening post.

Wow Erika, you are amazing! I never knew my Grandfather (Stanley Bailey) had any siblings. This info is so good to receive. I have been the only family member for many years as my Mother passed young and both Clarissa and Stanley (my grandparents, and parents of Winifred & Muriel) passed 50 years ago. Thank you so much. I will need to somehow save all these messages.

Now to see what I can find about my Mother’s sister Muriel, born 1927. She wasn’t spoken about at all. She stayed behind in the UK when the grandparents and Mum moved to Australia in the 50’s.

You definitely need Stanley's marriage cert......................the only way to try to identify - at least - his father.

1939 was not a census, so birthplaces were not recorded...........he could have been born anywhere. His marrying and residing in Lancashire are not indicative of birthplace.

Interestingly enough, Elisha and Louisa married 3 days before Clarissa was born. She was born 04/01/1901.
