Cannot find Marriage Certificate.

My grandmother Emily Mary Ann Russell/ Nee Cripps married William Charles Russell, but no certificate appears anywhere as far as I know. She was born in 1885 and William was born in 1875. |

when you can't find a marriage certificate and you know there was a previous marriage, it's quite possible there was no second marriage as first wife still alive. No easy divorce in those days. |
