Trying to connect Thomas Warhurst born 1819? age 42 on the 1861 census says his wife is Amelia age 30 but on 1871 says she is 32 even thou 10 years later could this just be a mistake.???
Plus can anyone tell me if this is his second wife as on 1861 census the children are Sarah ,20 Martha,12 Frances,18 Anne,16 but does not say second wife.
As on 1871 children are Bertha,10 Alice,8 Robt,6 Ruth,9.
Can anyone help getting really confused ::::::::::::::::
And if so who was his frist wife ????????????

no census tells you whether it is first, second or third wife!


have you looked on www.freebmd.org to see if you can find a marriage (must be after Septemebr 1837 when registration started.)


Also look on the IGI (International Genealogicla Index) on the Mormon site (www.familysearch.org) ....................... but treat a lot of the information on there with a great deal of caution.


If a record says "extracted" then it has been taken from official records and is subject to the usual mis-transcription, mis-spelling etc.


If it says "submitted", it has been submitted by someone, usually a church member ................. and may even be made up!

He married first inb 1839 as in the 1841 census he is living with Esther (wife) and their daughter Sarah b. 1841. Here's the marriage details

Parts of Ardwick & Gorton are damaged by water in the 1851 census, perhaps your Warhursts are there.

so the only option then would be to buy one or both of those two death certificats to see who the reporter of the death was.
