JerryH Report 9 Dec 2011 20:38

How about
gives free access to Wills and Marriage Indexes for Herts
Essex Record Office Website. Also gives access to their (now) pay to view, "Essex Ancestors" which has digital images of all the Parish Registers to at least 1700 and in many cases later
Proceedings at the Old Bailey - Never know what you might find!. :-D
Post Office Directories

xDaisyx Report 7 Jan 2012 07:36

Just came across this.

Robert Report 7 Jan 2012 11:56

Could GR put a link to these suggested sites for us all to easily access as and when we need them.

Alternatively - surely there is a GR Member with the Techie knowledge able to set up a free site with all of these on.

Just a suggestion - seems obvious to me

JoyDean Report 7 Jan 2012 12:23

To the previous poster: I understand that Phil Moir intends to do this. Thank you, to you for the sensible suggestion, and to him :-)

ideal for trying to find where your ancestors lived in places that no longer exist or for a rough idea when your property was built
