John and Martha Whitnal? John and Martha Pilcher? Just a few of the opinions found on Ancestry. Anyone got proof of his actual parents? Merry Christmas Glengyle

	Ancestry can usually be relied on to give false leads.............. What research have you done yourself? Where did you find out his birth year?

Member Since: May 2004 Posts: 32 Send Message	Not very much at this time. I'm 200 miles from Kent so don't get down there to investigate further. I use Ancestry but cant rely on that site a lot. I also use familysearch but they don't have much info on George and his wife/parents. Mostly for way back I don't have much to draw from.

	Birth no earlier than 1773, if age at death is accurate - probably 1774, as the death was last qtr of 1841 KEELER, GEORGE 67 GRO Reference: 1841 D Quarter in DOVER UNION Volume 05 Page 65

	One tree on Ancestry records a baptism on 11/12/1774 at Barham - which seems feasible, if the death is the right man. You'll need the cert for additional info to help to verify
