I’m looking for info on my uncles wife Beatrice Winifred Ward born 1924, I think she married a George T Bishop in 1944 I cannot find a birth or death for him or if they had children
She married my uncle in 1961

It will also tell you Beatrice's age and father's name, to confirm if she's the right Beatrice or not.

but a sure way to be sure would be George and Beatrice marriage certificate to get his father name then work towards his parents marriage,


They possibly could have had two children,,,..

The George who married in 1961 (posted above) was at an Essex address at least until the 2011 Electoral Roll, along with his wife (whose first name is mis-spelled on the marriage record transcript) until at least 2007 .

The house was last sold in 2002.

His wife from the 1961 marriage was born 1925, and it was her second marriage, too.

Thanks all, the two definite S I know is she married George in 1944 and my uncle in 1961, I’m assuming they divorced but can’t find any records

Death gives Beatrice’s DoB as 25 Aug 1924

I don't see any birth, or previous marriage, for a Beatrice Winifred A, with any surname, born 1923-25 in England/Wales or Scotland.

You really need the 1944 marriage cert for further info.

There are TWO Bishop/Ward births in Ilford on freebmd

You’ll have to look for them yourself as they are too recent to post on here

A tree on Ancestry claims that she was born in West Ham in 1924, and her mother's surname was Hiscock.

The second marriage was to LARA...............I assumed that was known

So it looks as though Beatrice Winifred may have been adopted (?) by Charles and Beatrice Ward - though why she's listed as Bishop in 1939, I can't imagine.

EDIT:

No, in light of later posts, she was Ward in 1939, and later Bishop and then Lara.

She isn't listed as Bishop in 1939. Bishop is one of the name 'changes'
