I HAVE RECENTLY OBTAINED COPIES OF APPLICATIONS MADE BY MY ANCESTORS TO THE PARISH FOR RELIEF AND THE INFORMATION I HAVE OBTAINED IS AMAZING AND RECORDS QUITE A LOT OF DETAIL. THIS IS OBTAINABLE BY CONTACTING ARCHIVE RECORDS AT YOUR LIBRARY. ( IN MY CASE, MITCHELL LIBRARY IN GLASGOW)
