Heather... Thank you... I may leave this for now and start bugging relatives who I know have the info... I mean...one little bit of info on a birth certificate isn't a lot to ask is it?! |

If you know the details Scotts origins (on origins.net) can find info, cost £8 but you get as much info as you would on birth cert, I have used it a few times for my scottish relatives, 1925 for a birth & 1956 for a death, but does take at least 10days for it to come back via email. Heather |

Carol... brilliantly explained ... thanks :) But.. I think this one is going to have to be set aside for more delving on another day - I can't find here at all. The biggest pain in all of this is that, after spending a small fortune trying to trace her, I know that there is a member of my family who has ALL the information I need - they just aren't giving... yet ;) And if that rellie ever reads this... DAVID! PLEASE... I want my grandma! lol |

Cha cha cha On 1837online, log in as usual, then click on the overseas records link. There is one along the blue band at the top and another in a square in the main body of the page. Make sure the event is set to births then enter your info. Hope this helps |

Carol... they do?? lol I have credits on 1837...guess I should know my subscriptions a lot better, huh?! Thank you so much for offering Carol - but you've just helped me by letting me know I can look up info on there I previously didn't know I could! I'm kicking myself... Thanks for the heads up. Though I'll admit I may be coming back here and asking you 'how?' if I can't find my way about 1837...lol. Keep your fingers crossed that I figure it all out - technophobe that I am :) Ann... thanks for the mail...and further info here - I'll say it again...you're an angel. Thanks |

Thank You both Ann and Heather... great minds think alike :) **UPDATE**Unfortunately, I don't think I can get the info I need there, as the page has redirected me to ScotlandsPeople website - this site only has births up until 1906 (I think)... and I have already tried there. Never mind... Thank you for the suggestion anyway :) |

My grandmother cannot be found at 1837, and I have discovered that she may have been born in Scotland (her father was a soldier, and may have been stationed there at the time)... any ideas where I should be looking to find a possible army-birth , circa 1920 in Scotland please? |
