Heather... Thank you... I may leave this for now and start bugging relatives who I know have the info... I mean...one little bit of info on a birth certificate isn't a lot to ask is it?!

If you know the details Scotts origins (on origins.net) can find info, cost £8 but you get as much info as you would on birth cert, I have used it a few times for my scottish relatives, 1925 for a birth & 1956 for a death, but does take at least 10days for it to come back via email. Heather

Carol... brilliantly explained ... thanks :) But.. I think this one is going to have to be set aside for more delving on another day - I can't find here at all. The biggest pain in all of this is that, after spending a small fortune trying to trace her, I know that there is a member of my family who has ALL the information I need - they just aren't giving... yet ;) And if that rellie ever reads this... DAVID! PLEASE... I want my grandma! lol

Cha cha cha On 1837online, log in as usual, then click on the overseas records link. There is one along the blue band at the top and another in a square in the main body of the page. Make sure the event is set to births then enter your info. Hope this helps

My grandmother cannot be found at 1837, and I have discovered that she may have been born in Scotland (her father was a soldier, and may have been stationed there at the time)... any ideas where I should be looking to find a possible army-birth , circa 1920 in Scotland please?
