Anyone else out there descended from these folk in Dentdale Cumberland? Apparently EVERYONE in the village spent their waking moments knitting socks to augment their income. |

not me i'm afraid..(an ex Essex gal) i could do with some nice fluffy socks ,in bed , here in northern california. Did they get these lady's to knit for britain during the war ?? I was just reading about an old american war campaign sign that read... (to recruit more knitters on the home front).. 'PEARL HARBOUR'.... pearl harder ! made me titter ! xkatx |
