I am currently trying to find more about my great grandfather James Gilligan.He was born in Jersey 1845 and his father was called Patrick. I have found him on the 1901 census but would like to know how l can find out more about him from when he was born. |

maybe his brother .1871 cesus Patrick Gilligan abt 1852 Jersey, Channel Islands Soldier Aldershot Hampshire No family with him.Do you know his wife's name or when he married? |

There is a James and a Peter transcribed as Guilliard on the 1861. I have looked at the image and it could be Gilligan, maybe someone else could have a look.
