If you know when they married, you should be able to get the marriage cert which will give his father's name and occupation, which should help. Ironically my husband's great-aunt married a Frenchman. We now have various papers, passport, details about his grave, photos of his first wife and children, pictures of him at work etc etc - more documentation than for any of my husband's blood relatives! If anyone is reading this and wants to know he was called Maurice Poubeau. nell |

My Great Great Grandfather was a French Soldier who married his wife in the U.K. Can anyone help with where to start a search for any info on this subject. Please. Ann |
