Tomorrow's the day (at last)!

Remember, if you're child is staying in full time education you will need to renew your family allowance.

My son is in year 9, and sat a GCSE exam the class diddnt know they were doing until yesterday when they were told to go in the hall !!!!

They are in the top set for english, and they did the level 2 ??? English paper (he said 2 something anyhow) The other kids were all year 10.apparently.

Something was mentioned months ago but the whole class no warning for revising..nothing at all. Apparently the teacher has had lots of time out of class & my son cant stand the teacher as she is always negative with the class :o(((
I want to say something but I know son will go mad if I do :o((

Luckily he said the paper was quite easy, & he feels he did well...good job as well !

Glad I'm not the only one Teddy lol

Thanks DET. Think Eng Lang paper 1 & 2 went well. it gets a bit calmer from now on. None today, 2 next week and one the week after!

Claire, what a palaver with all those exams happening at the same time and the PE teacher!!! I would have been fuming too.

I had an e mail from son's english teacher yesterday about English Language paper 1. Apparently some of the instructions were not very clear and some students thought the second text related to a single page poster instead of a four page leaflet. Many are worried so it has been highlighted with exam board etc who have agreed to adjust marks accordingly. Wondered if anyone else had heard about it.
Thankfully son remembers it being about a four page leaflet. phew!

Best wishes to all

Kaz :o)))

Many thanks for your input DET, I think our system works much the same as the English with outsiders employed to monitor the exams. For what I've read we must have the same or very similar exam papers too, in fact the only major differences are we no longer have SATS & Welsh is compulsory until the end of Year 11 (this includes my daughter who was English educated until she reached the age of 12)

We also have a problem with the firealarm which has only been partially resolved by having automatic exclusion for the culprits & a total ban on aersols

Well Geography was unbelievable.

She was put in a room with a load of others all taking 3 differnent exams with each finishing at a different time.

The first exam finished after a hour, distuption 1 was the 5 min warning for tme up. Disruption 2 was the first exam leaving closely followed by the appearance of a load more kids arriving for their exam (disruption 3)

Disruption 4 was a PE class collection their equipment with the teacher making the most noise, closely followed by exam 2's 5 min warning & those kids leaving (disruption 5 &6)

I am to say the least livid

I can still remember doing my exams when they were CSE's 28 years ago wow lol. And that was just before computers ! Good luck to all, I think that they are much harder now.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!!! Is it boys or what?? but I am now officially the worst mum in the world. Every time I use the word revision he goes all crumpled and wobbly - and according to him nobody else's mom ever makes them revise on a Friday/Saturday/when the sun shines etc I am remaining all calm and collected on the outside lol Sorry rant over!!

He says the Maths went OK .. Fingers crossed for Eng Lang today but he seems quite confident.

Hope all sons and daughters are doing well!!
