I suggest The Memory Garden by Rachel Hore, set in Cornwall and atmospheric and totally readable.
When I come to work in UK again at end of month I will participate!

Have now started The Little House and earlier today I collected The other Hand from the library.
Now I have got an excuse for not doing any housework

Have made a start on book number two - haven't got very far yet as my "Wacky Races" DVDs arrived and they have been distracting me :-)

I collected The Little House from the Library today, havong requested it, by phone, last Thursday or Friday. Now why didn't I think of that before. It saves me making two visits!

Will start to read it as soon as a have finished the one on the go at the moment. (Which I am enjoying).
I hope to hear about The Other Hand in the next few days.

So now I have no excuse for not doing reviews,

happy reading everyone,

Tess

Thanks for your comments ladies about " Clan of the Cave Bear" I too read it a few years ago and quite enjoyed it. Bought it in a Charity shop a few weeks ago and read it agian. Still just as good the second time around.

Went to the Library on Friday, remembered to take books to return, library card, pin number and ..... oh dear forgot to take names of the books to read this time!

Will try again soon. Wsh me luck.

Yes,
Greaders is a book club, we each suggest two books and vote for the two we would like to read, not voting for our own books. We have 6 weeks to read them or one of them, then we review them. Nothing heavy. If you are interested you can join in now and read one or both current books.

Yes it is and it is good as it makes me read books I would not normally do and I find I enjoy them.

I read the Clan of the Cave Bear about 16+ years ago and remember it was a good book, I also have read the sequels and I agree there were some very long descriptive passages in them that were very boring and although they did sort of move the story on but not in the same way as ther first one.

Clan of the Cave Bear" by Jean M Auel

This is a lovely book, quite different from the run of the mill stories, although the two sequels are a bit long, and boring.
She seems to rewrite the story, although you would have to read them to finish the tale....
A lot of reading, but worth it in the end.
I read them many years ago.
Enjoy.
