Definitely lining paper, its cheap and its good to write on. Does not tear as easily as wallpaper.

Oh, aye up, here's that thread again!!!!
I still haven't got round to sorting through my scraps of paper from all over the floor, desk, windowsill, filing cabinet etc etc......have just been reminded about the wall paper idea - thanks for budging this up!!
Must get around to doing that.....

I paid £3.40 for a roll of lining paper, thought that was reasonable

Saw a roll for 30p at a car boot sale today !

I use the scraps of paper all over the place method. But I think the wallpaper idea is brilliant :)

I use the same system as Dizzi.

I do mean to sort out all the bits of paper, and write up the info nice and neat and then file into the ring binders, but I just never seem to find the time....consequently it's only about once a year that i have a sort out, and that's usually because i can't find a very important scrap of paper from the pile on the floor, under the desk, on top of the desk, on top of the filing cabinet etc. and I have to turn the place upside down.
Now, writing it on the wall, that''s a great idea, just don't know how hubby will take to it.

Gordon mentioned Ron's website. Ron also prints out your tree if you send him the Gedcom. Take a look all sorts of forms available.

theres nothing like a drawing on wallpaper that costs £30-£40 a roll.......

specially when you've only just put it up and the grand brats come to visit, bringing their crayons!!!

ps who wants a pair, minus fingers?

I had found some American cousins who planned to come visit us. So out came a left over roll end of wall paper. I mapped out a huge tree with photos. At the family party when they were all here, it was great for everyone to look at, and work out where they all fitted in. Bit to large to keep, so it has been thrown away now and I keep the tree recorded in a smaller version printed out from FTM .

Thanks :)

My wife first used wallpaper for our trees but then she ordered the blank sheets that have 8 or 13 (I think) generations from Ron's web site. He is a member on this site. They roll up in a tube or you can stick them in a frame. Great.
Forgot to say they are cheap.

Dear Secret Agent Red Squirrel

Hello

I use brown sheets of paper that i got from Woolworths!

For each ancestor, I designed a simple log sheet of dates
and details to fill in.

I can then add when I want.

I also put notes on about historical events of that time
and a little bit about what life was like.

Best wishes to all family researchers.
xx
