you went out for a romantic meal with your OH?

Is it something that is a priority in your life......or are you happier with a take away and a good film? xx

We usually go out for dinner with the family for a special occasion. We tend to go on long drives on a nice day and have a lunch whether it's fish and chips down by the water or a meal in a small restaurant.

We have been together almost 18 years and the answer is 0......we have however had plenty of occasions of bags of chips on the market .....whilst people watching and having a jolly good laugh : ))

We do so love the simple pleasures in life ( especially if they don't involve having to get dressed up posh .....lol ).

December 14th 1993 ...that was my birthday ( and my ex) he had been telling everyone for days he was taking me for a romantic meal at a very nice restaurant ...so we got there and he said "if I get us a half bottle of wine , you can pay for the meal because I forgot to bring any cash " ......

Sue Report 22 Aug 2009 22:48

Not often...lol

I choke when we are asked to pay £35.00 for a bottle of wine I can get for £7.99.

On holiday abroad yes, a couple of times each week, at home about once every two years :-))

Anyway it's not too romantic being pulled up from the restaurant chair!

It was on my lovely Ian's 60th.

No-one would've believed he was (a) 60 or (b) in his fifth month of chemotherapy for the cancer that ultimately killed him.

A testament to my Ian that he had a ball that night, and, more to the point, made sure that I - and his friends - did so, too.

Here's looking at you, kid!

1999. That was before No.1 got his shoes under the chesterfield.

Now, No.2 ... ah, it was a year ago this weekend, wasn't it? Yes, it was ... just looked back at the old emails ... and found one of the rare ones these days from him, inviting me to join him in bashing a right-wing gunhead at the place on line where we met ... Anyhow, we had a savoury mountain of Greek food we brought back to our hotel room, room service breakfast, various meals at various little Montreal cafés ... and the last day the best: I spent $80 on an early-morning taxi to go and fetch him real Montreal bagels and cream cheese and lox (him being a Jewish boy from Ohio), and for seconds we had strawberry chocolate crepes in a 17th century courtyard in the old port while listening to live jazz ...

But here I am with No.1. And 1999.

Was supposed to go last week..... first time for well over a year beacause OH has been unemployed for over 12 months. He had sold some stuff on E-Bay so was teating me. Met him as arranged.. having a quick pint with his mates. He had swallowed a wasp for a bet (dooh) and his throat had swollen up. The £5 winnings went on a large Jamies and I went for a meal with my daughter instead....... very nice it was too.
