General Chat

Sometimes it doesn't have to be a deep debate that makes me smile, it is just somebody saying 'hello' or 'hi', as you would if you met a well loved friend, it is the familiarity of it that i like. I don't sit glued to the keyboard/screen all day but am doing other things in the same room and checking occasionally to see if anyone is around, I also don't stick to one board, i go on chat, gen and Tips.

So nice that there are some people who are willing to step up to the mark and just post and be damned.

They take our money this website so they can bleeding well cope with humans doing what we always do..... debate mostly in a nice way.

It's when the silly beggers who are only here for their own warped entertainment raise their heads that we have the problems.

Perhaps the next owners will sort that out.... we live in hope.

To be honest, I don't think it's down to who posts, the more the merrier. it's down to who doesn't post anymore. When general was at its best, we couldn't keep up with the posts. There were topics to keep everyone amused.

It may be down to the holidays though.

There is something quite nice about this site. Despite all the stupid aggro and the twats who haunt it, I will always renew.

Met a handful of people on here personally, the majority are just words on a screen but after almost five years the familiar names still bring a smile to my face and one day I hope I will meet you all as you come across as just normal.

Oh bugger, it has started to rain and I just put out my holiday drawers on the line... must rescue them.

Ello :) I've not been reading much or posting much lately. I *really* have been too busy lately and when I do look in there hasn't much to capture my interest.

To be honest Lesly I think chat has lost that certain ...URRFFFF...at the moment, I logged on this morning and had a little bet with myself who will have posted what thread and groaned coz I won..lol Funny you should that about getting stuck in again to your family tree, I made a promise tomyself about finding a certain missing reallie....now its my goal to trace him :-))))

Not really posting and not even really reading anymore to be honest.

Several years ago I wandered onto General (as it was then) from the genealogy boards and sort of stayed. I forgot about my genealogy to a certain extent.

However, I wandered off chat the other week & seem to have rediscovered my roots and the joy of looking for ancestors. I feel like a Newbie again.

No offence to anyone but I'm enjoying my "new found" hobby again more than my time on chat.

I don't know, maybe my time on chat has come to an end.

Mainly just read, Hayley; and have stepped down from football threads as I saw someone does them on chat.
