Liz, you will have obligatory Reps meeting the morning after you arrive, handing out info on excursions. We always went just for the free Ouzo...lol |

Hi Liz, so pleased you have your hols booked. You will probably be plagued by excursions to everywhere as you know. And I am not one for them myself, always like to make my own way..lol ... BUT the one you must do is to Paleokastritsa. It is on the west of the island and so beautiful, and the drive there is stunning. If I remember rightly, we had a few stops along the way with an interesting itinery and learned a lot, plus a few drinks of the local wines (which you cannot do if you are driving !) |

Thanks Amanda, I already have some as I always keep it handy, often forget to use it but bought a new supply a few weeks ago so will take the bigger new bottle as well as other stuff I have and our wall plug with the pellet things to use at night. I was at an Aloe Vera party recently, can't remember the brand name, but I bought the cheapest thing they had which is a Lip Salve with Aloe Vera and Jojoba cos they said it works on mossie bites and I thought it would be handy to have in my bag. Little did I know I would be going abroad this soon! |

Oh! Corfu. How I'd like to go there again, but no chance with my OH being housebound.Went there in 1980's and stayed in a wonderful hotel at Nissaki beach, not far from Cassiopi. It was unspoiled then.Remember having a meal at a taverna literally on the beach at Sidari, also a visit to Gerald Durrells house that I'd read about in his book"My Family and other animals" |

Thanks Sue, I did look there and found I was already a member but couldn't recall my password, however despite doing the necessary for them to send me my password, it didn't happen. I was able to read the reviews but wanted to mail one person and ask some questions. |

Go for it Liz ! Acharavi as I said earlier is a splendid spot to stay and do all the touring from. Cant remember the name of the apartments we stayed in unless I get all the photos out of the archives..lol, but Roda and Sidari are just the same sort of pleasant places to stay. Get it booked and enjoy !! |

I think I have sorted out the holiday, finally. I got up at 11 am, too early for me, to ring the travel agents for our local airport but he wasn't in the most receptive of moods so I didn't do it and sort of said, Sod Abroad, as he was saying he had to book extra days off if we weren't going til the monday or tuesday, and had to book it today as his boss was away from tomorrow, that company is rubbish for organising things and he would have to make sure the other chaps would cover his shift. |

Already spoken to Wendy thanks, just a while ago, and it's a studio which isn't really good for us, with me and my sleep problems. It only dawned on me this afternoon when I was talking to a travel agent, that with one bedroom, he wouldn't disturb me if I needed to sleep on because of my fibromyalgia or cfs, but could get up and make himself breakfast etc, sit out on balcony or go out leaving me to rest. |

Hi Liz, stayed at Acharavi, almost next door to Roda. Visited all the northern resorts, Sidari etc by bus or bike, and coach trips further afield. Corfu is wonderful, you will enjoy it. Lots of photos somewhere in the archives..lol |

I haven't been to Corfu but I would say go for it while you have the chance. As you say the weather will be good every day and everything else different, the scenery, the language and the currency. |
