We love those sort of dramas, Gwyn, we have plus recorded the whole series and there is another one 9.15 each morning called "The week we went to war" that too is a series, B.B.C. 1 looks interesting. |

Oh Gwyn, thanks for that, I must set up the dvd recorder as I will be at the doctors. My Mum was in the Land Army so this will be interesting to watch even tho probably a bit far fetched. |

I wondered if it would be similar to Yanks, would be good to see more of the work, as was mentioned. Having recently made contact with people my late Mum knew when she was in the Land Army, I wonder what they think of the programme, will have to phone them later and see, after I have watched it, having to record it for now. |

I wonder why this is aired at tea-time? |

I got a phone call just after 8pm from one of the ladies who was in the Land Army with my Mum, you may recall I put a thread up about going to the village she worked in and meeting her landlady's daughter, who passed on some addresses for me. I sent photos etc and a lady now living in Maidstone, Kent called me and said she remembered my Mum and loved receiving the letter and pics I sent but that she didn't know Mum well because they weren't in communal lodgings. My Mum lodged with a family and this lady who called me was living at her parent's home in the same village as were others so after work they went back to their families and my Mum would go to her lodgings and they would only meet socially on a few occasions. She was interesting to take to and said she had been watching the programme and was disappointed as it didn't show the work, just the frivolity. She is 84 and a widow of several years, and fighting leukemia but for some reason, can't have a bone marrow transplant so can only have blood transfusions, she was philosophical but said she won't let it beat her. |

I just watched what I recorded earlier, it's a bit daft and far fetched really - might as well watch the last one tonight |
