Not to worry Michelle, I have only read Bloodlines too. It doesn't matter if we only read one book. I wasn't able to easily get hold of a copy of the other one.

Review Wednesday. Hope work eases off a bit for you.

Due to a nightmare time at work these past couple of months (And many more to come) I have only got Bloodlines finished and barely started the other book

Finished Bloodline, have to wait until I get home now to get the other one as I need to get it from the library, looked in Waterstones but they didn't have it so guess it is old stock. Anyone else managed to buy it?

Ann, just looked at details at front of Antony and Cleopatra....

Coleen McCullough was BORN in 1937! lol

The "other book" you were trying to think of could have been "Tim" which was her first novel published in 1974. This was made into a film (or a made for tv film) starring Mel Gibson (I think) in the title role. I can't remember who took the role of the older woman in the story.

Jill, no not seen either in Tesco. I think Antony & C might be a bit difficult to track down among cheaper editions.

Yes I see that one in the list Ann, in my copy of "Border Music" have also got somewhere '0ld Songs in a New Cafe"
Have so many books, I have a New Zealand section (but of course and it takes up a whole bookshelf from top to bottom) and then there are reference sections etc. Have tried to shelf everything according to topic. Heard my daughter when she was younger saying to a friend who was asking about a book - "that she would go ask the librarian"

Persephone, there is a sequel, Slow Waltz in Caesar Bend.

I love the covered bridges and when we went to America was so pleased to see a couple, can't remember where now though as we went to quite a few states at different times.

Persephone Report 9 Sep 2009 08:10

I used to own a second hand book shop in the nineties when Bridges came out - and a lot of people thought it was a true story - they would turn up looking for the National Geographic Magazine with it in. Of course it was never done by National Georgaphic, but one day someone brought in a couple of Country Music Mags and in one of them was pictures of the covered Bridges. I photo- copied it and gave away copies to all those that asked and have kept the magazine.

The book has another title which escapes me at the moment - will have to have a hunt through my shelves.
