I sleep with foam earplugs in to blot out the noise my OH makes with his snoring.........they help loads.......when he worked nights for over a year......he got into the habit of booting me really hard in the leg in the middle of the night on the few nights we did share a bed !!! .........We invested in a king sized bed........and all is well now !!! xx

We have only a 4'6" bed because of the small room here at o.h.'s house, and the small bedroom has a tiny cabin bed which was his son's, now he uses that room as a dressing room. The other bedroom is full of my stuff so you can't get to the bed but it's a cold room anyway, no heating in the house so only the main bedroom gets warmth from the gas fire in the room below, and it only has a 2'6" bed which is useless for anyone over a size 14 lol I am sure it was his dreadful snoring, notorious in his family, that caused my sleep problems to begin and then I ended up not wanting to sleep in the same bed at all hence me staying up at night and sleeping in the mornings.

We always have seperate rooms on holiday in England, and this year we have booked a two bedroomed apartment in Corfu, what heaven!!! I can't wait! lol

Persephone
I would never expect anyone to sleep in the same room as me - it's creepy when you wake yourself up snoring!!!
Maybe that's why George b*ggers off!! LOL

I sleep for part of the night with George.
He's there when I go to bed - and there when I wake up.
But I know he goes out between 2am and 5am - 'cos Ive woken up at that time and he's not there..................

Bl**dy unfaithful cat!!! LOL

My thoughts for what they're worth:

there's nothing better than waking up face to tace with someone you love.

Believe me, you'll miss that if it's taken away from you.

My advice - tolerate the snoring - the silence is deafening

Dear Mrs Winter Drawers

Hello

Cheeky Aileen!.

Chuckles.........

Of course.....

You need lots of cuddles especially on cold nights............!
....but use ear plugs so you can't hear the snoring!

But I must say I would like a bigger bed.
There's not much room in these standard beds, so a king size bed
would be nice.

Best wishes to all.
xx

Just remembered that this same chap goes on holiday and books two separate rooms.

The presenter said why not just get one with a balcony!

This was an article today in The Mail which ended up being part of a phone in on LBC.

There are people as young as in their 20s who sleep separately.

One chap in his 30's sleeps on a bed in the lounge, his wife in the spare room and their two year old in their double bed and he says it works a treat because of his snoring.

I am quite normal then! No replies necessary thank you.

Unless one of us is not well, with a cold or something, we share a 4'6'' double bed. We would like a wider bed but haven't got room. When we go away we opt for twin beds. But we like sleeping in the same room. Nothing wrong with separate rooms though, several of our friends prefer that.
