love your poem Rose, aren't you clever?

I don't have room to grow anything else sadly or I would ask for some seeds. Marigolds are great in a greenhouse in pots by the door, they discourage flies on tomatoes I think it is, and also I think you can grow them near roses and they stop the greenfly coming round.

Happy Gardening folks

Lovely poem Rose .

I'll look forward to getting the seeds going in the spring . I'm sure my grand-daughter will be most interested in them ( especially as they are usually quick off themark and thus ideal for a child to grow ) .

Thank you : ))

I wrote this when Dan was little, lol

Marigolds...

Little boy Daniel loved orange and yellow
they made him feel funny and sunny and mellow.
His mummy said "Dan,I can see we'll have fun
with your penchant for colours as bright as the sun.
Though now it is cold and the sky full of showers,
when summer is here you must have special flowers" .

And so from the flower beds
he pulled up the weeds,
and pressed into the earth some shrivelled brown seeds.
for week after week not a thing could be seen
no flowers of primrose or tangerine.
But after the wind and the snow and the showers,
came little green shoots and the buds of bright flowers.

Thus just as his mum in the winter foretold
soon Danny saw acres of lemon and gold.
And when summer came he sat ,lucky fellow
surrounded by marigolds orange and yellow!
