Muffyxx Report 14 Sep 2009 22:37

I don't think I'll need to now I've found the paper one Hayley. Thank Gawd. ALSO mine is a US marriage cert lol........and though recognised here.......it wouldn't prove a thing in terms of my status in this country as it's not on our BMDs.

I'll check with the DVLA tomorrow though to make sure.

I'd like to have my birth cert to hand though........you never know when you might need it.........

Silly Sausage Report 14 Sep 2009 22:36

can you not use your wedding cert instead ?

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 14 Sep 2009 22:28

Nope it's not in my wedding box........that was one of the first places I headed.

I'm going to get a really lairy coloured file when I get all my docs up to date and shove it all in the bottom of my underwear drawer.

If I ever have this again........would some kind soul please remind me that that is where all my important docs are kept.........cos sure as eggs are eggs........It'll be at least a decade before I clear out like this again lol xx

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 14 Sep 2009 22:21

Well........I found myself easily enough on the BMDs so I can order a replacement.......I just can't quite bring myself to do it yet as I KNOW it'll turn up somewhere totally obvious.......

I'm giving myself 2 days to find it.....then I'll give in and replace.

xx

I've still got my original birth certificate........my only form of ID . It looks as woebegone and tatty as I do but I suppose it should as it's getting on a bit now............lol

My sons was lost earlier this year ......turned the house upside down etc.
Finally ordered a new one...............and yes.........within a couple of days the " lost " one reappeared...................lol

Silly Sausage Report 14 Sep 2009 22:11

Maz I refuse to buy my dads and my mum her hand bag stoled with it in it the day after she registered his dealth.

Maz (the Royal One) in the East End 9256 Report 14 Sep 2009 22:09

the kids ones are safely in their cardboard folder inside my certificate folder with all the others. I think I recycled mine by accident just after mum died, along with several originals of her death cert and also her marriage cert :-((( You can imagine I was so upset when I realised what I had done, not to mention furious with myself.

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 14 Sep 2009 22:07

That's it Hayley.........I bought the long one.......remember now.......belts and braces as my old Grandad used to say lol xx

Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 14 Sep 2009 22:06

If I remember correctly when they were born and you registered them you got the short one free and paid for the bigger one... when I replaced them I brought the full ones..

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 14 Sep 2009 22:02

LOL bizarre how they just wander off isn't it Hayley........I bought two for the girls.......the long one and the short one so I guess I've narrowed the odds with them a bit which with my track record is prob just as well !!!!!!! xxx

glad I'm not the only family history person to have lost their own birth certificate twice! plus mum lost it as well previously! some of us are just destined to leave something for future generations to research (pay for!)

YEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY I've just unearthed the paper bit of my license !!!!

It was buried under a load of paintings I kept from the girls in a box file !!! Still no sign of the photo bit or the birth cert though :0(

I'll phone the DVLA tomorrow and see where I go from here xx

Muffyxx Report 14 Sep 2009 20:51

*slaps Joyous*

*HARD*

I'm NOT pregnant thank you very much .....you can put those needles right away !!! lol.

I've tipped the place upside down.....I really have........I've drawn a total blank.

I don't remember having to produce docs when I had the car accident Anita....but then that whole time was a bit of a blur.

My passport ran out 4 years ago (I have that oddly lol) and I haven't bothered to replace it as I haven't needed to.
