I have some of those products in the cupboard but find myself using white vinegar for cleaning the bathroom and other places.

Brilliant stuff.

Once the vinegar dries there is no smell. Cleans up old grouting a treat too.

All my old dears use the vinegar to give themselves a nice cheap pedicure. Bit of vinegar in warm water and soak them and they come up a treat. Costs you pennies.

I even tried it as a teeth whitener.

Forgot that I should have diluted it instead of dipping the brush into pure vinegar and dislodged a filling. My teeth were "sparkling".

Looked like an Osmond! Until I smiled and you can see where the gaps are. Not that that was caused by the vinegar I must add.

Age spots. Now you can get rid of them by dabbing neat vinegar onto them every night and within a few weeks they will have disappeared.

Don't bathe in it or you might disappear!

Ohhhh Aileen, so glad you educated people on here about the virtues of vinegar.

Has to be white vinegar of course.

Chrome taps....get a damp cloth, dab it in some bicarbonate of soda, rub it in the taps, rinse, and they will gleam.

Windows, some warm water, a dash of fairy, and a dash of white vinegar, Wash windows and dry with scrunched up newspaper. No smears and spotless.

Shower head. Unscrew shower head, and leave in some white vinegar for at least an hour. Rinse...and the limescale blocking the holes will be gone.

Limescale on taps. Soak some kitchen paper in white vinegar, wrap around affected area of tap. cover and seal with cling film and leave overnight. Remove in the morning and rinse....

Cooker glass....make a past of bicarbonate of soda and pure lemon juice. Put paste over glass and leave for an hour. This loosens baked on grease, which can then be scraped off easily. rinse and glass is gleaming.

As for having your bathroom smelling clean. If by 'clean' you mean you can smell the cleaning products, you are really smelling chemicals, not cleanliness. If you want it to smell clean, use lemon juice in your rinsing water.

No smell at all is truly clean...
