Have you checked to see how many John Cokers are in that area on the 1851 cencus ? If your man is the only likely one in the area I would assume it is indeed the same chap . |

I have a couple of ancestors who were obviously nursed at a rellies home and died there but lived elsewhere. Could that be the explanation. Is the informant an ancestor you know of? |

Amanda, there are four John Cokers born 1811-1817 on the 1851 in the City or East London and I know mine moved over in c1852. |

Uggers...........unless there was another John Coker who died at more or less the same time as your one in more or less the same area , then he must be your chap . Are there other deaths at the same time with the same name ? |

Looking the informant up on the Census may give you a clue unless she has a very common name. I've been lucky with informants in that I've found out who daughters have married by their names on the certificates. |

A death cert is registered in the district the death took place so that can mean they are not buried in that district they will be buried in the district to where they lived. |

Thanks Sue - it's a bit of a necessity for those of us with London ancestors but I couldn't find Richardsons Buildings on it. |

St Luke's is around the Old Street area and St Marys Haggerstone is a parish of Shoreditch around Haggerstone road. Hatfield street does not exist any more. |

Ah Joy thank you, I'd forgotten about that site - so that would place Hatfield Street and Richardsons Buildings both in Holborn district - nice:))) |
