Julia just read this - life can be damned hard at times cant it but you must be strong for your grandaughter, take a deep breath and carry on. I do hope things improve for you; I'm sure I'd be feeling the same if I was in your situation.

I didn't see this yesterday Julia as I was not on here much, but I just wanted to offer you my support, hopefully the police will not have left it too long and will be able to catch up with him. My thoughts go out to your Granddaughter and her Mum and to you and your OH. You are doing all you can by being there for them, and as others have said, feel free to rant as much as you like, or PM anyone if it will help you. I am so sorry for your problems.

Thank you all for letting me have a sound off earlier. I have had a sleep, as I am mentally exhausted, with the not knowing. We have to wait for tomorrow, and the social workers and police do their bit. HE is still absent. When OH went over to the ex daughter in laws to get the childrens clothes, she is in a state of bewilderment, but was going to work as normal, to take her mind off things. I do feel so sorry for her.
The children's cousin has now come to visit, so some sort of normality prevails. I'd rather keep him for a week than a fortnight, as they say around here, he was a little lad last time I saw him, a couple of years ago. My God, they do make 'em big these days.
Tomorrow, after grandaughter has been to college, grandad is taking her to make a video statement. Then, the police were going to go and arrest HIM. But now, he has bolted. They should have been more vigilant. Crime does not stop because it is the weekend. And that is what is making me feel so mad. Anybody in their right m ind would have known he would do something.
Anyway, many, many thanks again. Now, I have to pull myself together, and get the show on the road, as they say.

Thank you all, you lovely peeps, but just at the moment , I want to scream, and scream, and scream. I want to wreck vengance on someone. OH, is being marvellous, and he is only a step-grandad. He went to the mother's home for the childrens things, and he was heartbroken by her despair, and disbelief. Even though she is an ex daughter in law, our hearts goes out to her.
I do not want my son, their father to find out, just yet, what is happening. He is brain damaged from a car accident, some twenty years ago, and now, if I am honest, is brain addled with drugs, since then. I also have an 89yr old father in the vicinity, and we are as close community.
I am sorry, I am just typing my feelings as they come to mind.
On a lighter note, we went with laddo to Tesco, to get them food for breakfasts, and for school pack up. Whew, I did not realise how much it costs to keep children these days. It came to over £60. God give me help.
Luvs you all for your support.

Completely understand where you're coming from Julia and hand on heart I couldn't say that I'd feel any differently from you.

HOWEVER......IF you damaged him and ended up in the clink yourself... you'd not be able to do what is the most important thing here........and that's be there for your grand daughter....

It must be a living nightmare for you hon but as Stray says......we're here to walk it with you xx

Julia, let the police deal with him, don't waste your energy on him any more, he's a low-life. Your grandaughter needs you now, to make things right for her, and to keep telling her this is not her fault, none of it.

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 27 Sep 2009 13:43

Julia, it is perfectly ok for you to feel as you do.... your anger will tide you over the next few days, and you'll need that.

Come on here, give vent... pm anyone who will listen to you and you feel comfortable with, phone them when your granddaughter is at school, if you have telephone numbers of people you trust. You need to stay strong, but you need people to support you as well.

He will get his come uppance, one way or another. Believe me. Softly softly catchee.......

Love and even more ((((((((((hugs))))))))))
