For me, a pub on the outskirts of Derby. Not that I have ever been in it, though I am told it is jolly nice. No, it signals for me the end of the city limits, with its ring roads, under passes, traffic, etc. You can tell I am not a car driver. I absolutely hate Derby city centre. and the approach from the other side of town from the Royal Hospital. Doesn't bother OH, he is a seasoned driver. When I pass that pub, I know a few yards further on, I am not only in some of our beautiful Derbyshire countryside, but I am on my way home from yet another session on the jolly old Morphine. I know it is naughty, but I light a ciggie at that stage. |

St. Michael's church in Aughton, Lancs - probably because I now know that so many of my direct paternal ancestors (and a lot of others on Dad's side) are buried there. Some have stones, some don't - but whenever I go there, I always go to find my great-grandparents' grave and my great-great grandma's next to it, just to see that the stones are OK. |

Another one is the New Forest in Hampshire. Now my ancestors do come from Hampshire, but I love it because it was where I spent half my childhood, being brought up partly by my grandparents. |
