Thanks all for your support.

Suzian, that made me laugh as I have to think about it at times when listening or talking about perro . The worst and funniest is Pollo ( chicken ) and polla ( not putting it here ) but did a quick crash course when I first arrived on Spanish swear words !!!!!

Hi Uzzi

Glad that's worked out ok!

On the subject of not learning the language of your adopted country, when my OH went over to your part of the world with his restaurants, he also didn't have a clue about the language.

So, sitting listening quietly, he was amazed about how many Spaniards discussed dogs - until he realised that the Spanish for "dog" was perro ..... and the Spanish for "but" was pero!

Garda are pretty OK but there again my experience is more or less in the far west of Mayo where I know most of the folk. Always a problem with dogs and kids in that neither are seen as totaly responsible creatures

Thank goodness for that..... just read this...... poor dog! Why is it always assumed to be the dog at fault?

My son was bitten on the nose by next door's Peke when he was small..... Peke was normally good natured, and very friendly, and a little poppet... turned out that son had been messing around (he was 6) and trying to be a dog.... and had stuck his nose into the dog's dish as dog was eating his sausages from said dish!!... Dog snapped, and was then very apologetic, lol

Lesson learnt by son..... and by next door neighbour... dog was trained to accept dish being moved etc... child learnt to refrain from sticking his nose in things he shouldn't!! ;¬))

Glad all is ok Uzzi.

Love

Daff xxxx

Terry the dogs were free behind MY fence on MY parcela ( pitch / home)

Update ~~~~

Well it could have been worse, I got a call to the site office this morning and because the guardia are taking no action but the woman complained to them I have been given an unofficial warning about by dogs. Thankfully it was given with a smile on the understanding that in future I let them deal with complaints and do not retaliate.

Were the dogs on a leash or running free? If they were running free then its not the childs fault if they were on their leashes then it is the child at fault

I have thought to tell them about the brat, but my failing I haven't yet learnt the language of my adopted country, not that I would have understood more than I did.
Small blonde Angel- - - I bypassed the child and went for the mother

You could have offered to hit the child with a stick and see if it would like to bite you!!!
I have 6 dogs all Lhasa Apsos all different colours and I am sure that most people would have trouble telling them apart two, having said that if some one hit Tia on the head Phoenix would bite them as she is her mum and Tia is only 4 months old.
I think that children should be brought up to respect animals.
Keep your chin up

Perhaps she needs to control her children - then one of them wouldn't have been bitten!

*breathes*

I am not sure if I am about to be fined ( why find me I wasn't lost ) . My mutt probably did did bite her child , shame she couldn't say which of my mutts did the dasterdly deed .
They really look alike 1 is 10,5inch tall sleek coat and full wavey tail
the other is twice her height rough coat ( even worse cos I cut it ) with a half stubby tail .
Stupid woman she so annoyed me that I lost it.
My dogs are my children ! I lost it with her,
