Dear All

Hello

Dear Jean in Monmouth, in our house, swiping the black and white
telly was compulsary to make it work!!

Dear Muffy, don't bash your new machine, well not unless it doesn't work!

A few years ago, our tumble dryer was conking out.
So, I sat with the broom handle pressing the ON button which wasn't working too well to keep the machine going. There was a load of washing to be dried!!

Best wishes to all
xx

Phew.......all sorted.......new machine being delivered next Thurs.

Pollypoppet.....I very nearly went for that one......til I saw a 1400rpm spin one on Comet website.......same make ......for the same price.....

Local stores wonder why they are losing business........not one machine in them for under £250....not even a pretendy special offer.

I personally think washing machines should be free........as they're a modern essential....

I shall make it law when I become Prime Minister LOL x

PS I never sit on my washing machine when it's on a spin.......I am pretty sure they'd last even less time than they already do with my bulk on them!!!!

I remember Dad giving the Tele a knock to get the picture back.
I must try the fast spin on the washing machine when it is fixed on Monday LOL

Getting back to clouting/thumping things. You young things won't remember this but the old TV sets with valves were usually thumped when the horizontal or vertical hold was moving about. Always worked.

Hi Bob

I've not heard of Compass........I 'll have a scout around for them.

Thank you xx

Bobtanian Report 13 Oct 2009 23:57

please dont take this the wrong way but I believe that Compass get hold of a lot of reclaimed machines, some are end of line or last of stock stuff, and not only washing machines, but fridges, freezers and the like.....

My cousin bought me a super dooper all singing all dancing machine as a wedding pressie and it lasted no longer than the £200 jobs I've been buying since lol.

mostly it's just used to freshen up worn clothes.......maybe twice a week I use the pre wash cycle for whites....don't use or need anything else xx

I am not certain but I think it was one of these

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.204-6072.aspx

Tescos home are the outlet places that dont sell food and get rid of surplace stock. I know the one in Bristol but dont know where else they are.

Ive bought lots of things far less than the direct prices. But its a case of when its there its there.

I cant vouch for the quality mind, but am considering buying one of their small chest freezers, just dont know where I can fit one.
