Never used to watch it til I had the bad back...now it's another prog I'm hooked on.......

The other night somebody cooked a Moussaka.....looked dead nice so I've just had a go at making one .....*gulps* It's in the oven as I type....I'm more than a bit nervous about the amount of garlic they said to use....but I stuck to the recipe by the letter......

I'm also going to put a part baked baguette in shortly.....as an insurance policy ....so we can have crusty bread and soup if it's vile lol. xx

Muffy, you can get the recipes for this programme off its site. Just google. I use these recipes regularly , and enjoy the programme. It can become adictive though.

I love come dine with me aswell, and your Moussaka sounds lovely, you won't be needing the soup.
But what would you cook Muffy if you went on the show?

Muffyxx Report 27 Oct 2009 18:09

I'm really not much of a cook tbh Agatha lol........the only meal I cook which I'm really proud of is a full English and I doubt I'd score many points with that !!!

How about you? xx

**edit**THanks Julia....If this one isn't edible I'll have a go with her recipe......didn't realise you could get them online ta xx

I used to make Moussaka quite often, but soooo many pans for all the different stages.
Did you use aubergines?
My family preferred courgettes for that layer, when the children were young.

Yes Muffy, just google Come Dine With Me, and find the episode you fancy, and print off the menu. I have had many successes from this programme, and it is my favourite next to Raymonds 'Restaurant', which comes back on Thursday night, BBC2. The best, truely the best,. And if you fancy watching Big Gob Ramsey, he is back next Tuesday on Channel 4.
Happy eating, and be good (!!!!!) sighs

The first time I made moussaka I followed a recipe which said to salt the aubergines t take away the bitterness. What I didn't realise was the salt had to be washed off before you made the dish. It was fish & chips that night!

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 27 Oct 2009 18:49

Yikes !!! I can't remember if I salted them or not now !!! LOLOLOL xx
