If she is that far along you should be able to feel the babies movingabout. You should also be able to feel the line of them. They are like round lumps that move if you prod them!
When our last Guinea Pig was pregnant we didn't realise and thought she was just fat, She only had 2 babies and was the classic aubergine shape that pregnant guinea pigs take.

The one who is ue now is far bigger - She must be having more than 2! I can feel 2 sets of legs and feet but they are just 2 of the lumps I can feel - There are more than that though i'm sure.
Yes its brill to feel them! :-)

I don't know, I would imagine so.
But they are pregnant for 9-10 weeks so she could be due very soon!

I can feel the babies in there There's no way she's not pregnant. I can feel them moving about. They are so big I can feel thier legs and feet in there!

Ahh thats a shame. I thought it was more rabbit that ate the babies, Not Guinea Pigs. i would bet that if anything she's re-absorbed them. :-(

Sparkle still hasn't had her babies, I think she must be having more than the normal 2-3. She is so big now. Have a look. This photo was taken 2 days ago!

Pat

Muffyxx Report 6 Nov 2009 09:53

We've come to the conclusion it must've been either a phantom Pat OR she's had them and eaten them (yuk...but I've heard of it before). She looks totally normal size wise now so we've taken her out of her nesting hutch and put her back in the run.....

Hoping yours appear soon !!! x

Gypsy

Gypsy Report 30 Oct 2009 00:00

Can you feel babies in there?
I couldn't at first but could see them - She was definatley bigger. Then I could feel slight movements and now they are huge kicks!
I think once you can feel the babies moving they have about 4 weeks left to go.

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 29 Oct 2009 23:56

If there's no movement in the next few days Pat I'll nip her down the vets I think....but she really doesn't seem ready size wise tbh x

Muffy -
Keep an eye on her. Do you kow it is quite dangerous for Guinea Pigs to have babies after about 9-12 monts old. Their pelvis can fuse and they find giving birth extremley difficult. Hope everything goes well for her.

Gwyn,
8! You must be doing something right!

Im a little concerned - I can hear lots of squeaking coming from th cages outside, Hopeully tonight is the night!

Good luck with all these expected babies, ... They are so cute.

Our Guinea pig is still alive.... 8 last August.
Spends alot more time sleeping now, with nose tucked under the hay, but perks up if she hears us opening the door.
There might be a tasty snack arriving!

I think my girl will only have one or two Pat......she's about a year old and this is her first litter.

My human friend is overdue her baby......I reckon they're going to give birth on the same day lol x
