I am pleased to say that the 3 ceramic toast racks I was offering are being collected by a lady tomorrow evening.

My OH couldn't believe that anyone would drive across town to collect them!

How long have they been listed? Give them a few days then if no one responds, put hem out for the charity bag collection

Wildgoose

Wildgoose Report 4 Nov 2009 17:01

I only just joined. Just wondered if anyone else had success.

Our charity bags only seem to want clothes and shoes.

Children left home years ago but their stuff didn't! They say they'll come back for it but it's been YEARS!

We use Freecycle all the time, if the things don't go try advertising them as a car boot lot, that might work.

I got rid of a load of FH mags that way.

Amazed at some of the requests on my local Freecycle group.

Two requests this year for cars - working ones.

Freebies have included patchwork mags, sheds, clown dolls, paint brushes - the list is endless.

Wish more people would sign up as it is a brilliant way to give away items.

We use it a lot. Have not taken anything yet, but given away loads. An indoor fountain, fish keeping bits and pieces, Electrical goods, umpteen things. Plants go well, have freecycled a lot of Sedum spectabile this week to four different people, and we find that freecyclers are so friendly.

I'm quite looking forward to starting to Freecycle!

Had a word with daughter tonight. She doesn't want me to give her soft toys away and she says she'll put them in her loft.

Next time we visit I'm taking them with me!

Have had a loads of things from it, I got a new sofabed, 32ins tv and lots more from it.

Me and my daugther have been on it for few years now.

Some weeks you will not find anything then alot of things will come on. give it time.

Good luck

They don't take pets either.

And there's no swapping allowed either!

Wildgoose

Wildgoose Report 4 Nov 2009 20:59

Thanks Hazel.

I've always said this house would look much nicer if it wasn't for the JUNK.

Let's hope someone else sees it in a different light!

Treehunter

Treehunter Report 4 Nov 2009 21:11

Believe me not all is junk the sofabed still had plastic on it and it was the same one that my son had which was £385.

tv was in good condition. So not all is junk.

But some is, so enjoy

I wouldn't offer anyone any real rubbish. It's just that we have 3 grown children that left home long ago and I want to have a nice spare room when they stay; not a left luggage station!

A new sofa bed; lovely!

I just spotted on my local freecyle page (E London) three people asking for puppies & kittens,

Wildgoose

Wildgoose Report 5 Nov 2009 10:43

Fiona - it says no pets at all on our Freecycle. I'm surprised the mods have let that slip through!

Loads of people are asking for baby equipment. I wish it had been around when I was a young mum!

Wildgoose

Wildgoose Report 5 Nov 2009 15:10

I've just placed my first offer on Freecycle! Three ceramic toast racks (they used to give them away with the butter).

Let's hope there's a collector out there!
