I had mine 2½ weeks ago, on a Wednesday

arm swelled that night

and I came down with the worst cold that I think I have ever had on the Friday

It was 11 days before I left the house, and I only went out by myself (ie, not being driven in the car by OH) 3 days after that.

It was only a cold .................... I didn't have the aches and pains, headaches, stomach upsets etc etc of flu, but, boy, was it bad one!

I'm still not sure why I was given it ....................... I was at the doctor's office for something else, mentioned the seasonal flu shot, doc said I could have that, then came back with two syringes and said I could have the H1N1 shot as well.

The vaccine is in short supply over here, and it was (and still is) being restricted to certain groups ....... and I don't fit into any of those groups, and in fact am in the group which is considered not at great risk because I'm old enough to have been exposed to similar flus in the past.

My husband and 3 year old had it Thursday. 2 year old and I will get it next week. Can't take the risk when you have kids, especially when one is at that giant germ factory called school.

We have a boondoggle going on here so haven't been able to get it. People lined up for hours outside at hockey arenas, vaccine running out, no more supplies arriving ...

Because of No.1's diabetes, both of us should get the vaccine. We hope he will be able to soon. I'm not high-risk, so I couldn't yet, even if I felt like spending a day in a line-up. Children and high-risk adults only, so far here in Canada.

This is a vaccine, not a drug. It contains exactly the same stuff as other vaccines. There is nothing special about it that needs "testing". The only question is whether it is effective. And because there is a % of cases in which it isn't, the best solution is for as many people as possible to get it, to reduce the risk for anyone who isn't immune.

I am suprised to hear that some of you did not have to sign anything, i was sent a form to sign and as I did not want the injection, I had to sign that I was not having it and take the form up to our local surgery, and if I had the injection I would have had to have signed.

I was sent a form but will not be having it, I did not like the way you have to sign for this injection like when you have an operation, when with the normal flu jab you do not.
Anyway Good morning Keith and good luck with your jab

Keith I had it 2 weeks ago and in the other arm at the same time I had the flu jab, OK I had a really sore arm with the swine flu jab for 3 days but apart from that I was fine, even the surgeons I work with went for it so it cant be that bad eh? though on day 2 thought I shouldnt of had it but now wouldnt have done any different.
