I always have two Christmas trees....one artificial one that goes up on the last day of November until a week before Xmas ...then when they sell the real one's off cheap .....I will take the artificial down and replace it with the real one !! .......because I just love the smell of pines .

Well can you blame me I bought a 5ft one last year for £4 beautiful .. LOL

Grabagran Report 17 Nov 2009 18:38

Grannie. It would appear her insurance doesn't cover her.
She can't understand why not, but she's gonna try to find her policy, which according to her Insurance broker, states cover for itemised personal possessions.

Word of warning to all, check your insurance policies.

Rambling Report 17 Nov 2009 18:05

I usually do them on my birthday, but I'll be in London anyway and I am booked up with plumbers and kitchen fitters , so if I don't do it soon it won't get done.

yes Dizzi :)) well why not, it brings a bit of colour and light , its the lights I love most actually. Christmas 1998 was the last Christmas for my mum, and she was always one for getting the decorations down asap, but that year she said leave the lights on the tree we'll have it for a few weeks into the new year... she died two weeks after, I wonder if she 'knew' somehow?

Kay????

But when I do put them up I have loads. OH loves lights and we have them everywhere, even in the conservatory, we have an artificial tree loaded with decorations, this year as last, red, gold, silver and white, and we have quite a lot of Christmas ornaments, five cottages which I group on a large coffee table, they all light up and are on artificial snow with various figures to make a scene, and several snowmen ornaments.
I also do two large Christmas arrangements and have a couple of bowls of baubles. we are still like kids at Christmas.
