Nah.... you lot ain't nutters... you're all bonkers, that's what you are..... Rose, I thought chuffing was mild, too.... I never heard a squaddie say it though...... and I rarely heard a squaddie say bad words... didn't hear them until I went to work in the school, lolol

edit *blushes madly* well..... but did you notice that they are mainly Americanisms, or definitions from youngsters? We wouldn't be expected to know in our generation.... I hope!!

Well a RN expression used to be 'I am dead chuffed' i.e. meaning well pleased but that was in the 50s/60s. I would take the word nowadays to be an Americanism more akin to the 'f' word.

And I agree with Daff, you are all bonkers on here Lol!!!!

Will be interested to watch Sue if they win (which of course I hope they don't)

My apologies to Daff for letting her look up that word !

Ann my mum used to say " dead chuffed" ( meaning as you say well pleased lol) or 'chuffed to doll rags"

the meaning has obviously mutated since then !
