Just bought Susan's debut CD It has a lot of slow songs on it beautifully enunciated and her pitch is great but over all i think the CD lacks a bit of punch .Its very good dont get me wrong, but personally i would have preferred to hear her sing some more old classics She does I dreamed a dream though and I cried a river these havent lost anything.
I am glad i bought it, and look forward to her next CD hopefully which will stretch her a bit more.
She sounds very young on it !

I suppose if they have too many of the classics on the first Album it doesnt leave her anywhere to go for subsequent CD.s.

She looks really nice on the cover ,especially the back cover which is full length sitting side ways at a piano, i think her makeover is very flattering for her and should give her confidence a boost.

WOW I have to revise my original posting !! when I played it first on the PC it was on random play and I couldnt see how to play it from song one , I was a little disapointed with it, BUT have now played it again on the HI Fi/DVD player from the start and its a really good CD .NO it doesnt need any more punch and Susan sings every track giving it her all.Yes would love to hear her sing some more old classics but bet that will come on subsequent CD,s

Even critics ill-disposed to the glutinous hype that has preceded Susan Boyle’s debut album, and its “oddball kitsch” (Bob Stanley, in this paper), concede that there is something special about her voice.

On Sunday night, Boyle’s rendition of Wild Horses on The X Factor should have silenced her detractors. It was stunning. Not what Mick Jagger or Keith Richards could have ever imagined for the song, but so what?

Interpretation and appropriation offend musical purists but can often yield something magical. Boyle held the audience rapt, her voice soared with warmth and feeling.

Despite her makeover — diva hair, frock and magisterial gait — she seemed nervous. “Look out the public,” she repeated when Dermot O’Leary, the host, asked about the release of her album. Not exactly the rousing call to sales you can imagine Beyoncé or Mariah Carey proclaiming, but very SuBo. Her power is such that The Rolling Stones yesterday re-released the original song.
