It is quite possible, David. It can be a real problem sorting out what your skin is allergic to. That is not usually psoriasis thuogh, more likely excema, both of them can occur at once. Unscented soaps and washing powders, which of course are the dearer ones, but are best to use.

For thelast year and a few months I have regularly been using a launderette for under wear jeans socks shirts towels etc.

Is it possible that the cleaning agent being used is some thing Im allergic to ?

I have eczema, and thought I had asthma, until last week ,when I cut out tomatoes from my diet, this because I had such terrific tummy ache.
Now wheezing and being out of breath gone. Still get itchy with dry skin though.I use Sudocrem, which eases it.

I had to go to the doctors as a child with Urticaria, and it was diagnosed then that tomatoes were the cause, then grew out of it, but seems it has now come back in my old age.

It's more expensive than your regular bar of soap.
Regular warm baths using Simple soap or baby's soap ?

My sister used to have this quite bad on her scalp until i recommended to her to get a shampoo called polytar from boots. Works a treat and shes pretty clear of it now. I'll have a look at that dream cream from lush as well, might be worth a try.

I would think that it might be ok, but maybe if you google you will find some reviews that mention it.

Why not ask the Practice Nurse if she can advise or google for more info.

Doesn't running bathwater through a bag of oats help make the water good for itchiness?

I just googled the dream cream and there are some good reviews on here:

Yes, I wipe the flannel across the Epaderm, picking up some, and use that instead of soap. You can put some in the bath water. Hve been doing this for 2yrs and only use soap to wash my hands! Iuse the eumovate in my ears to prevent the itching from the dry skin and also on all the psoriatic patches, on my leg and crutch and navel. You get past shyness!

Lush, the shop that sells all those smelly soaps and things do a cream which apparently works well on eczema. If you ask they will explain more, I can't recall the name, might be Dream Cream?

Just as a matter of curiosity. Do you have asthma. There is a link between eczema and asthma particularly in children. Was just wondering if the info about that link might help you.

45 years is a long time to endure anything YG
My doctor prescribed Betnovate cream and a tub of Epaderm
Both of these are to be applied to the affected parts.
The Epaderm to be applied in the bath ?? don't understand that

I get Epaderm ointment from the GP, also Eumovate cream. I wash with the Epiderm and never use soap. Coaltar shampoo,s are better for the hair and scalp. You will have to try several differnet treatments probably, until you find what suits. I was sent to see a skin specialist to get mine.
