I have never been a great fan of Rod's but I think he sings old song in a 'nice' way. The songs he chooses are what I like - even before MY time - (and that's saying something!).

You didn't have to put up with the Crazy World of Arthur Brown - dressed as a phone box - afterwards, Carolyn

More that a pint of warm lager needed for that pile of crap!

I first saw him at Lewisham Odeon in about 1973(?) but am dead jealous that you got to share a warm pint of lager with him!

Plus, was at the IoW last year and Stereophonics did Handbags and Gladrags and dedicated it to Rod

couldn't agree more Carolyn

Last saw Rod at Newcasle Arena - on his great American Songbook tour

As I said before, first saw him over a warm pint of lager in a plastic glass many, many years ago...

I've never seen Robbie live (only on TV) but have seen Rod loads of times over the years and his concerts are the BEST!!
Been looking at ticket prices, seems £70 is about the going rate and of course I've got to take someone with me, but I've got to be there, roll on May!!

Maybe see you there, Carolyn . Rod could be Robbie's spiritual father, don't you think?

Both class live acts, both nearly played pro football , both love the ol' black tie music, both went through their troubles etc

I just watched it and thought he was great, just wondering if I can persuade my kids to buy me tickets to see him at the O2 next summer!

Hi Amanda

In a broken dream was Rod with Python Lee Jackson - I know this 'cos they played at the Mayfair (N'cle) as a warm up band to Crazy World of Arthur Brown.....

If you got in before 10, you got in for free. Just call me a cheapskate, but I was there. Me, three or four other folks, and Rod - I shared a pint of lager with him that night

~~~ to Rose : )
I was bought up listening to The Faces , The Small Faces , Rod etc as my big brother was somewhat keen on his music . My brother also had the haircut , tartan scarf and big nose .......all long gone now of course but he kept the nose.....lol
I bet he still has all the original records in his massive record collection.
