:-) Anyone interested in, or have friends/family into this sort of stuff? Personally I tend to prefer guitar and vocal things but I promised a friend I would mention his work.

Sorry, I have a clingy pup on my lap as well as a laptop!

What I meant to say was please have a look at Soundcloud.com and search for Tom Pritchard.

Hope this doesn't breach T&Cs - no sales are involved but you could raise his hit rate!

Thanks for looking, and hello to any old friends still posting x

Hi Julie

Love a bit of Bob Marley myself. Paolo Nuttini's 2nd (?) album is very reggae ish.

Julie

Julie Report 7 Dec 2009 12:38

I don't mind a bit of Bob too

Though we'll never be able to prove it in the song No woman, No cry..theres a line that says " And then Georgie would make the fire light " that might have been after my OH's G/Dad

Wow! That is cool; obviously they were mates? Great family story to have.

I have heard some Peter Tosh too but can only remember a bit of a Vampire track.

Julie Report 7 Dec 2009 12:46

My OH's G/mother used to cook a pot of food and Bob Marley, Peter Tosh & Bunny Wailer would have something to eat but this was before they were famous........Peter & Bunny were part of the Wailers

& His G/Dads name was George..but like i say it can't be proved
lol

Now a man with a voice is Beres Hammond..pure silk

Hello to "old friends" Jen and Julie :-)

Love reggae; I remember Pat in Circles used to post about reggae.

Just trying to decide which CD to buy of Stephan Grappelli and Django Reinhardt (sp?).

Julie

Hi Joy

Pat was good fun and knew loads about music. First person to speak to me on here.

Those two names you mention sound familiar but I would have to google them too.

The Intégrale Django Series is the complete recorded works of Django Reinhardt. Incorporating 20 Double CD Volumes it carries all recordings available during it's production.

Compiled by Daniel Nevers for the French Fremaux label, the final volume became available in 2005. Each set comes with extended liner notes in English and French with some interesting observations and pictures.

more to follow!

Thanks, Bob.

I knew I had heard the name - think I saw him on a history of music programme a while ago on Sky Arts.

Amazing to carry on without the full complement of digits.

I don't normally like jazz; I think you have to be more musical than I am to appreciate it.

As an aside I certainly don't like the random peeps I am hearing RIGHT NOW from next door - 7 yr old recorder "maestro".

Thanks to anyone who has looked at the tracks on SOundcloud.

I'm into the Bristol sound - so I think this is really rather good - I particularly liked 'Vadia'.

Changed my mind; maybe I'll order one by Mireille Mathieu

JenRedPurple Report 9 Dec 2009 12:27

Thanks Fiona; I will pass your comment on to him. I know he is a really talented guitarist and bass player but I can't really judge his mixing/composing.

Joy - now you are just sending me off on google hunts aren't you? ;-)

Again, thanks to anyone who has gone to soundcloud and played Tom's tracks.
