I haven't been on for a couple of days and thought a few of you might be wondering about why. Just been so busy trying to catch up with writing cards and putting a decoration on our front door. The corridors look lovely with decorations up and all the front doors have tinsel and wreaths and baubles on them. Ours looked so miserable I thought I had better try and cheer it up a bit.

I started my chemo on Saturday and so far I am ok with it. The doctor in the Medical Physics rung me yesterday saying he has had a request from my oncologist for a bone scan for me, he wants it doing before Christmas so Ian (doc) thought he better ring instead of relying on post. My oncologist was told the ct scan showed it had begun in my skull as well so he wants to know how it has increased in the other bones. Please keep fingers crossed for me for early next week.
I am going out shopping now while hubby is at home.

Fingers crossed and everything else too for you Caz. I bet your front door looks lovely with the decorations on. Hubby put our decorations up on Monday - looks like Santa's grotto with all the lights.
Take care

Hi Caz,

Sorry I haven't been on for a while. Just seen your post, and like everyone else I'm keeping my fingers and everything else crossed for you. Hope you manage to get all you need at the shops. We put our Christmas tree and decorations up yesterday, it certainly cheers the place up.
I bet the corridors look lovely with all the tinsel, baubles and wreaths.

Speak to you soon and take care! I'll be thinking about you and hoping all will go alright for you, next week

Love and best wishes to both you and your OH. Sallie.xx

Hi Caz,

Glad you are managing to do the decorations and cards, so you feel you aren't letting the side down lol Good thing the meds aren't causing too much of a problem and hope the scan is over soon, and results not as bad as feared. I know you would rather stay home in the warm and hope it isn't too cold where you are, it's cold here but the frost has gone, it's very damp tho ugh! I want to hibernate!

take care, hope you get what shopping you want/need.

love and hugs

That is lovely Dutch, thank you so much. What she hasn't said about not being on for a while is that she is bad with the vertigo and has a painful neck.
Thank you for all your messages, it does help knowing you are there for me.
The corridors here are like Santas Grotto, the warden has done us proud, theres a tree round every corner and every window sill has a decoration on it. I'm so lucky to live here.

Glad your rooms are nearly back to normal Deanna, it's been a long job but worth it I suppose. We haven't got a tree either, and wouldn't know where to put one unless it goes on top of Cockys cage, which he won't like.
Emmerdale is on now so must go.

Hello Caz

I think that Daffy can vouch for me that I am the worst person for adding to threads after the first post...but I do so wish you good luck and will be thinking of you even though I am useless as a poster....but if you ever want to talk...at any time of day or night....just give me a shout by pm if I am here......not saying I will have any answers but will be a voice to speak to or touch base with...

Thank you all for your messages, and to the two new posters hello.
I was just thinking this morning that twice I have been in hospital for cancer ops at Christmas, one coming home the day before Christmas Eve and the other two days before. Then I couldn't make the big dinner, now I'm too gormless falling all over and dropping things. It is my favourite part of Christmas is cooking the dinner, now I can't even help because our kitchen is too small for two to be in there working. Oh well, I'll just have to put my feet up and watch telly and DVDs.

How lovely that there are so many decorations, what a lovely warden you have, even when you feel poorly a bit of sparkle cheers you up.

You will have to 'manage' the dinner from the lounge. write out a plan although I know your OH is great at getting meals anyway, so just enjoy!!!

YorkshireCaz Report 18 Dec 2009 11:25

Morning Jean, we haven't got a tree, I threw it out when we moved as it would have been too big. We tried to find a two foot one but none to be found.
I still feel ok on this first weeks chemo, start second one tomorrow then have a weeks rest, then doc wants to see my feet and result of bone scan on the 30th. He is supposed to be on holiday,he's a scotsman, but said to tell the nurse who weighs me he wants my file in his office. Don't know what's going on.

I can't remember if I thanked anyone for their cards, my head has been all over the place, if not thanks to all who sent me them.

It's thick of snow here and I have been watching cars trying to get up the cobbled road outside my window, none have made it so far, you'd think wouldn't you that council would grit the road outside an old peoples complex?
