GG have a look at the confirmation email you received when you won / bought the item, it should have the sellers name and a partial address....plus als an alternative email address

Ring the ebay customer services telephone number, explain what has happened and they will give you some really good advice

or.............

click 'advanced search' on the ebay home page, Select member from left hand side and click on ' find contact details', then you enter the sellers details and the long item reference number in the two boxes as requested and you will receive a email giving you the sellers telephone number and address !!!!

as a security precaution this can only be done if you have bought / won from a seller.

Hope some of this helps

I think i just escalated the claim with pay pal not too sure on what I'm doing to be honest.

Will go and see if i can find board, do you know if I'm allowed to mention his name?

Julia

Julia Report 16 Dec 2009 16:28

you need to escalate the claim, you can do this soon after making the initial claim. Ebay has its own community boards and usually people on there are really helpfula and will give you some advice, I would recommend you give it a try

I have left negative feed back, but if i could get my hands on him the robbing git that he is, he e-mailed me on E-Bay but i cannot contact him any other way, mind you that's no bad thing the mood I'm in at present. lol

RB don't worry i won't hold my breath otherwise money will be no good to a dead person. lol

I use eBay quite a lot; no problems so far.

My son in law nearly got caught out, though.

He paid £750 (Paypal) for a pair of speakers; they are a famous name and this seemed a bargain for his band. The speakers never did arrive, despite the seller's assurances that they were on the way, and Paypal refunded his money.

It looks like you have run into a bad 'un but as you paid by Paypal you should get your money back.

Don't forget to leave this rotter some really bad feedback!

Beejay Report 16 Dec 2009 15:15

Good luck anyway, let me know how you get on with your claim if you can, hopefully if you can't get hold of your seller Paypal might sort it sooner than the 30 days

Granny Grumps Report 16 Dec 2009 15:11

No i shall have to buy another and wait till money is refunded.

Beejay Report 16 Dec 2009 15:06

Oh lawd. I know Paypal are supposed to be very good on getting the money back to you but that doesn't help in the meantime does it

Granny Grumps Report 16 Dec 2009 15:01

Mine is an expensive lesson Beejay £110 worth.

Beejay Report 16 Dec 2009 14:56

I've never had a problem buying from Ebay, but I did have to make a claim yesterday through Paypal for a book that hasn't turned up, ordered back in November. Like you Granny, they've advised me to contact the seller but again like you the email address doesn't seem to exist.

Still I've learnt a lesson, if a person on a certain genealogical website not a million miles from here invites us to take a look at his website I shall resist, it's just a shame that person has to remain nameless.

Hope you have a good outcome

We use E-bay all the time and have never had any problems. Did you check the seller's rating? - it usually gives you a rating in the right hand top corner and look for anything that is almost 100% positive.
