Mine is all done - might get a few bits tomorrow when the rush has eased - do people not realise that within a few days everything will be open again !!

I spoke to someone who had gone out at 3am this morning to the 24 hour Asda - there is no way on this earth I would be out at that time,

Could someone please let the public know that we aren't going to starve, we do not live in a 3rd world country, we are only having a few days break !!

I didn't buy a lot more than I'd usually buy tbh. I'm spending most of Christmas at my Mum and Dads and eating all their food so it's only salad and perishables I was after anyhow.....plus a bottle of Asti for my Mum to glug on Christmas day (her one drink of the year) as a thank you for all her hard work.xx

I went yesterday,, it was manic, but everyone in M******s was in good humour and being overly nice, unlike the rest of the year, was quite nice lol

It sounds as if Baby Satan has it all worked out to his advantage....lol

No doubt my " tribe " will turn up tomorrow to help with the baking , I wonder what creations they will make out of left over pastry for good old Santa ?

I didn't buy much more than usual either Muffy.......and the veg for our Christmas dinner is all off the allotment : )

I don't like the sound of shopping at 3am at all Jessie......there might be zombies filling their trolleys at that unearthly hour.......lol

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 23 Dec 2009 18:32

Only time I ever did 3am shopping was when my eldest was a baby.....she was awake anyhow at that hour and consequently so was I.......so I took advantage of a nice peaceful supermarket and did my weekly shop then.xx

CrunchyNuTTer

CrunchyNuTTer Report 23 Dec 2009 18:33

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 23 Dec 2009 18:37

That makes very good sense Muffy......but is it creepy shopping at that sort of time ? I imagine it must feel a bit dream like......lol

StrayKitten

StrayKitten Report 23 Dec 2009 18:37

oh iv nvr shopped during the night lol

yeah he has, im his skivvy, hes the boss in this house he tells me, but nana is the boss in here hmmmm lololol

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 23 Dec 2009 18:41

Nooooooooo it's lovely Amanda.

No one barging you out of the way or blocking aisles with their trollies pointing out sideways......No having to manoeuvre around people chatting on the corner of the aisles so you nearly displace the bread display with your trolley trying to avoid them LOL

BLISS !!!!

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 23 Dec 2009 18:44

I'd give it a go but I can't imagine getting my old grumpy guts OH to take me at that sort of time......he's a bit " stuck in his ways " .......lol

Jessie aka Maddies mate

Jessie aka Maddies mate Report 23 Dec 2009 18:44

The only kind of shopping I will be doing at night is...............standing at the bar and deciding which drink I'm going to buy !

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 23 Dec 2009 18:45

TBH I never want to see 3am in a supermarket again I value my sleep too much nowadays.....even if it is nicer to shop at that time....... now the children are older there's no reason for me to do it.

But it IS a lovely time to do a weekly shop if your body clock is up the wall for any reason xx

Eddieisagrandad Report 24 Dec 2009 11:14

Why use a supermarket at all? Don't you have a real market nearby with fresh local produce?
You'll find it cheaper and because you won't fall prey to the supermarkets advertising you'll buy what you want and not what they want you to buy.
And none of that appalling music either.

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 24 Dec 2009 13:48

I know I said I wouldn't but I ended up nipping over our co-op this morning and it was jam packed.......lol......all four tills open ( that is a rarity in itself ) .
Well done Angie with your early morning swoop there.........lol

And Eddie , your right about using the local market , our veg is off our allottment : ))

My sausage rolls are in the oven and I've already eaten too many mince pies................. happy Christmas folks xx
